[director Clarence Fok]

Color 91 min

It’s a star-watcher’s dream, but a nightmare for anyone who likes their films coherent and stable within a genre or style. The movie, one of Naked Killer director Clarence Fok’s early productions, is a hodgepodge action comedy, which went through something like nine different cinematographers and numerous casting changes. In the end, it starred Alan Tam, Brigitte Lin, Simon Yam, Carrie Ng, Tony Leung Kar-Fei, and Yuen Wah. They all play absolutely bizarre superheroes, from Simon Yam’s gambler with razor-tipped cards to Tony Leung’s machine-gun-toting acrobat who does orgasmic back-flips when women speak to him in mandarin.
