Balancing Act
I bought one of those $99 Staples office chairs awhile back. It’s your basic black fabric high back chair that swivels. Pretty comfortable and there’s a wide berth at the top for sleepless mice. The first time Maus fell asleep on my lap was when I was sitting in that chair, working at my computer. Although I love it when he starts to snore, my legs usually go numb long before that and I start to fidget. This apparently interrupts his happy napping. That’s when he claws his way up the back of the chair. He knows I’ll rock the seat cushion so he takes a second or two to dig himself into the fabric. Satisfied that I’ve stopped moving, he’ll sit towering over me, swatting me over the head with his tail.
